PRIVATE WINE STORAGE

Our cellars are maintained at a constant 15°C – the optimum temperature for the steady, graceful maturation of your collection. This is equally important for both wine drinker and investor. In today’s market, in order to achieve maximum market value for a wine, you need to be able to document its cellaring provenance (storage history). For investors, we can provide certification of provenance covering the period of time a wine is with us, upon request.

Your favourite wine may tell you on the back of the bottle that it will benefit from 10 years cellaring or more. It should really specify “under good conditions”. These conditions are extremely difficult to find at home. If you keep it under your bed it may be past its best in five years. On top of the fridge it may last for two. In order for your wine to actually ‘benefit’ from 10 years cellaring, it needs to rest peacefully - somewhere dark, still, cool (and more importantly of a consistent temperature) and neither too dry nor damp. Otherwise, there is a fair chance that the bottle that you have patiently waited for a decade to enjoy will end up down the sink. Disaster!

For overseas collectors and expatriates we are an ideal home for your Australian wines. They can mature here until such time as you return home to Australia or are ready to have them shipped to you, wherever you are. Our management services ensure your wine is maintained in the best possible condition and a current inventory is only an email away.

Most important is our flexibility. If there is something extra you need us to do, whether it be tracking down rare wines, valuing your collection or recommending optimum drinking times, we can assist.
